While some people have it embedded in them, some can grasp it easily. All enthusiasts need to maintain constant motivation to achieve the goal of becoming great Interior designers. You, therefore, need to motivate yourself into becoming confident in your choices. Motivation plays a bigger role than the actual abilities and skills you possess. Since you need to impress yourself first, you need to focus on your self-esteem first.
Overview
Before quitting your career to focus on designing, it is essential to identify your goals. It is important to set individual goals and break down to steps and tactics you will use to get there.
Most of the time, we make plans then fail to abide by them simply because we lack motivation or confidence to pursue the dream. External forces and challenges in life usually deviate and discourage us from our goals; sadly, these challenges are unavoidable. The only way to succeed is to learn to live with the challenges. Self-esteem is crucial; you have to motivate yourself to make a change in your life. It is all dependent on you.
It may not be easy and I cannot guarantee it will happen instantly. It all requires confidence and willingness to pursue the dreams. It starts with baby steps. Here are some ways to motivate yourself and become a great designer.
Write it down
Noting down the specific goals, you intend to achieve in a certain period is a boost to your effort in working towards the goal. Avoid writing abstract and general goals, find specific elements. For example, do not mention having an attractive living room or kitchen. Instead, focus on, which things to add to the available space and changes to make. Writing down may sound obvious but should not be assumed. Naming the concrete elements and goals helps you to stay focused and keep track of your progress. It is also easy to remember to behave in a certain way or keep schedules when they are in your pocket notebook other than abstractly in your mind.
Keep a list of what impresses you most
Noting down elements that you want to see every day helps your mind to be focused on the positive things in life. Motivation is not built on negativity. I know carrying notebooks everywhere is tiring; this is why phone manufacturers provide notebooks; whether you have the oldest place, there is always something to impress you. It is all about commitment; spare few minutes every evening and runs through the day on views that made you happy. After a short period, you will realize you have developed positive energy towards the achievement of your goals.
Face your excuses
The primary enemy to progress for any human being is excuses. We tend to justify our laziness and lack of motivation to stop working. If you had set 1 hour every evening studying about the latest trends in the market, avoid excuses such as time limits. Whenever these excuses come up, and sure they will, look them in the eye and be honest with your conscience. It is not easy to fight with your mind, the excuses might recur for days, but persistence is key to boosting motivation in changing your life.
Conquer your fear
Do not let fear stop you from pursuing your goal. Fear is the most likely reason we get demotivated and fail to change life as we desire. Find the specific element that causes fear and addresses it by counteraction. If you fear rejection, ensure you get rejected at least once every day; you will develop confidence and get over the fear after a week. This trick works; counteract your fear and you will vanish it in no time. The absence of fear is the beginning of motivation towards your goals.
Download inspirational images
Images help to focus your mind on exactly what you want to achieve. Keep them where you view them regularly such as on your coffee table, bedside, or study. This closeness you’re your ambitions will help your brain to adjust to the needs and find attraction in the images. Working towards goals is not a walk in the park. You have to fight with your body, mind, and external forces that include friends and family. It is going against the norm and out of the comfort zone. Pushing hard in the baby steps won’t be easy; while you can achieve goals through hard pushing every day, there is a likelihood of losing psyche and dropping the goal after a few weeks. Be easy and real with yourself; after working out at the gym get home and do something you like.
Constant Check-In on your Plans
It is important to constantly remind yourself of why you are working towards the goal; just like you do with cutting on junk or working out at the gym, you should set time at the end of every week to remind yourself about your ambitions to become a great designer.
